How do I uninstall Live Mesh?

Question
-
Can anyone please tell me how to uninstall Live Mesh from my computer? If I go to Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs and do the uninstall option it tells me an error has occured and it will not uninstall Live Mesh no matter how many times I try. So I went into Explorer and went into program files and tried to delete the files directly from the hard drive and it tells me I am not authorized to delete this program. I am the only "administrator" and so should be able to delete what I want. Why cant I get this software off my computer? Thanks in advance.Monday, October 6, 2008 7:13 PM

I followed all the instructions but when I got to this step;
- Once you are in your Command Window
- Navigate to the location that you saved the LiveMesh.exe installer
-
LiveMesh.exe /repair (assumes the product was already installed or needs to be repaired)
-
LiveMesh.exe /uninstall (removes the product)
-
LiveMesh.exe (no switch, installs the product)
I was not sure what to do next. When it says Navigate to the location you saved the LiveMesh.exe installer I did not know what to do. Do I go to the .exe file I downloaded through Windows Explorer or do I type in one of the options above into the COMMAND WINDOW? I tried typing in LiveMesh.exe /uninstall in the command window but it says this is not recognized as an external or internal command blah, blah blah. What am I doing wrong and why is this program such a pain to get rid of?! Thanks for any help as this program is really messing up my computer and I cant get rid of it.

Hi Mike,
You need to navigate to the place you saved LiveMesh.exe; e.g., if you're on Vista, and you saved to your desktop, you want to navigate (in the Command Window) to c:\Users\<UserName>\Desktop). Once there, type one of the commands listed in the sticky. If those don't work, you can try editing the registry (assuming you're comfortable doing so).
I'm sorry this has been such a hassle for you. We're still only a tech preview, so there are a lot of improvements still to be made. Please let me know if you run into any more problems uninstalling.
Thanks,
Ben.Tuesday, October 7, 2008 3:00 PM -

The solution for how to remove Live Mesh manually is linked from the post above that is marked as answer.

Stephen:Thanks. The problem is I am totally ignorant of how to do these things. Now, I cannot find the installer file. I tried to look for it on the net but none of the websites had a link to the installer file. Sorry to be so annoying but would appreciate your help.ZainFriday, August 7, 2009 4:19 PM

Zain, you can download and save the installer by signing in at http://www.mesh.com and selecting add a device, then choosing the correct version for your OS.

in win 7 this still gives a reply of "not recognized as a internal/external comand" can you assume we know nothing and include command prompt line to get to moe.exe file. your answer is much to vague, please elaborate!

Open start menu and navigate to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features
Find Windows Live Essentials 2011 > Select Uninstall/Change and pick the piece that you want to uninstall.
That's it, in order to remove Live Mesh (for Live Essentials 2011)

This has nothing to do with Live Mesh beta, daveNETguy, but I'll leave it as I know people will end up here via Search and Microsoft's naming conventions make things fairly confusing. ;-)Thanks for posting.
