Existing Contact? in Business Process Flow error RRS feed

  • I have a CRM 2015 (U0.1) OnPrem environment and using Business Process Flow on Case.

    One field "Existing Contact?" doesn´t seem to work, when I click on it I get:

    An error has occurred.

    When I debug the problem I get this:
    POST http://xxx.xx.xx/[ORGNAME]/AppWebServices/LookupService.asmx 500 (Internal Server Error)
    Server was unable to process request. ---> lead With Id = a39ad9f7-a503-e511-80c7-0050569be0c3 Does Not Exist

    Why is the Existing Contact lookup trying to resolve a Lead when I´m in a case?

    Is this a well known bug?

  • As i can understand, you are searching not a contact:

    " lead With Id = a39ad9f7-a503-e511-80c7-0050569be0c3"

    In your error is telling about that.

  • Hi there,

    Case has one relation to Contacts (customerid) and I would like to use that Lookup but the only option I have is "Existing Contact?" which is producing an error.
    I don´t understand why it has a relationship with Lead.

    I´m trying to search for a contact, not a lead.

    I can´t download the log in Internet Explorer (grayed out). But as I said when I debugged I got the error message with Lead...

  • I don't need a log file.

    As i understand, you wrote your Business Process, witch is throwing an error, so copy a code of Process here.

  • Ok,

    In a process editor, you can enter in a process sessions (in a right menu) there you can chose a failed session and enter it. There will be a step, that throwing an error. Put here this step (screenshot).

  • If you are referring to the ,,Process Sessions" entity then there are no records there.

    Here is my Business Process Flow (all under the Case entity)

  • Try to change Stage Category, as i know, only leads can be Qualified, correct me, if a wrong.

    since our Update on MS CRM 2015 i have the same problem:

    The fields "Existing Contact?" and "Existing Account?" are missing!

    In my opinion it is a bug...

  • I have the same issue with the Existing Contact lookup within the business process flow on the Case form. It works fine on create, but on update I can see the same error using Fiddler. I'm on CRM 2016 on-premise (8.1.0.359). This looks like a bug as I have no custom code implemented either. Were you able to resolve this?

    Error: "Server was unable to process request. ---> lead With Id = f6a2e3a8-1346-e711-80d9-00155d062d18 Does Not Exist"
