Basically, if you the MCPD Web Developer on version 4, one option is to take all four exams required by this certification (70-519, 70-513, 70-515 and 70-516).
A second option is to get the MCPD on 3.5 (70-564 + 70-562, you already have 70-536) and then upgrade to 4.0 (70-523). This requires one exam less, and you finish with both the 3.5 and the 4.0 certifications.
Until last year, you could have finished your MCPD on version 2.0 and then taken the two upgrade exams, but at least one of the exams required by this path (70-547) was retired last June, so you no longer have this option.

I agree with Alberto however you need to consider the fact that 70-523 is an upgrade exam so it contains content from all the .NET Framework 4.0 Web Developer certifications broken down into sub-sections. If you fail any one of these sections, you fail the whole exam.
