I really don't know anything about Ivy Tech. I have taken the exam MOS - Excel 2007 (77-602) and the exam was for 50 minutes and there are 17 questions. You will be provided a real Office environment. Not every exam is equally difficult so do not divide the time equally. There are simple question and there are hard questions as well. There are two exams available for the Word . I used CBT Nuggets for Excel exam so you might find http://www.cbtnuggets.com/it-training-videos/series/423 as useful however since I have not taken the exam I will cannot guarantee you that is sufficient enough or not. There are two exam normal and the expert exam. You can get more from http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mos.aspx#certifications. I haven't taken expert exam yet. But I hope at some point I will. Some exam centers they may not accept credit card though not a big deal but I end up in wasting the time in finding an ATM machine.
Try to go through all the option is Word environment before exam since you will not get much spare time to decide. If you stuck in one question just mark and proceed, do not waste time in finding the solution and always you can come back. Best of luck for you exam.

Personally, if you have any doubts, try a practice exam. You can get Word 2007 practice exams from different vendors, eg:http://www.measureup.com/product.aspx?ProductId=2579
http://www.transcender.com/practice-exam/microsoft/77-601.kap
http://shop.certiport.com/Shop/Control/fp/cat/146081/SFV/28737
http://www.gracetechsolutions.com/certification/voucher/microsoft_official_pretest_voucher.asp
Do a search online for other vendors and their products and see which one fits your needs.
Also take a look at the skills that you'll be measured on the exam: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=77-602&locale=en-us#tab2 if you are confidence that you can do all those, then go for it. If not, then study somemore.
The only one that can tell you if you are ready for an exam is you.
