Registration fails after re-installation RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an MSDN license for CRM 4.0 from my customer. I installed it on two different servers, both for the purpose of development teams. The registration tool registered both successfully. However later on i needed to reinstall it on one of the servers. Now it does not register. It gives the same general message that is, ensure internet connectivity is there on the server. I have verified that is not the problem. I wonder if it is not allowed to make more than a few number of installations with MSDN license ?

  • I got the same error! I've installed the crm 4.0 server o a new virtual machine (so all installations was updated). Could be some error on the MS servers reposnsable for the crm registration process?? Cause the 405 http error seems, to me, an error just of the webserver.

Let me know if you find some way to fix it!

    EDIT!! ------------------------------------

I've found another thread where another crm user have trouble with the crm 4.0 registration process and a MS partner posted a tool specifaclly build to register crm 4.0 and it works! I've solved my problem!

  • Check log:

c:\Document and Settings\<username>\AppData\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs - file for registration is called: crmreg.log

Inside this file should be details information about error.

  • There is also another case here:

All within the last couple of days, coinciding with the release of rollup12. Am I paranoid? Absolutely.

  • And actually this problem started happening when i was only at rollup 11. because i tried to register at the time when rollup 12 was not even available and the first thing i always do after any dev/test deployment is to install the latest server rollup.

  • Same problem for me. Form the crmreg.log I get "HTTP 405: Method Not Allowed".

Tried any solution presented in the different blogs and posts but none worked for me. Any other ideas ?

    Thanks in advance to all.
