The plug-in assembly registration configuration is invalid. 0x80044170 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have exported MS CRM 2011 solution and trying to import the same in CRM 2013.

But import is getting failed because of the following.

    Item Type :  Plugin Assembly

    Error Code : 0x80044170

Error Message : The plug-in assembly registration configuration is invalid.

This Assembly is registered in Isolation Mode and multiple steps are registered under that.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • CRM 4 plugins are not suported in CRM 2013, they were supported for CRM 2011 and therefore the upgrade to 2011 did not cause any issue. But it cannot be moved forward to 2013. You either have to re-write the plugin using CRM 2013 SDK or perhaps exclude these assemblies and steps from upgrade to 2013 and bring in the rest of the CRM 2011 data.

  • Are you trying to Upgrade an existing assembly that is already registered in SandBox(Isolation Mode)

  • No, I am just trying to import the crm 2011(on -premise) solution into crm 2013 (on -premise).

I have checked by making Isolation mode : None.  But no success.

  • Do you get any more information if you enable tracing ?

the most likely cause is if the plugin is either written for the CRM 4 endpoint, or maybe some of the registration information uses CRM 4 features (e.g. child pipelines)

  • Hi

Did you ensure, that you have same customizations in CRM 2013 as CRM 2011, including all attributes and types.

  • Hi DavidJennaway,

Yes, That plugin is written for CRM 4 and we are trying to migrate from CRM 4.0 to 2013.

Initially we have imported the CRM 4.0 solution in CRM 2011 env. and now trying to import the 2011 solution in CRM 2013.

Is there a way, we can fix this ?
