Server Rebuild - Recovering Data RRS feed

    Hi,

    I've just had to rebuild my WHS. I've done a fresh install on a new 1TB disc (that was not in use by the server before).

    I've now reconnected one of the old data discs and want to copy the old data off it. I can navigate to the old data no problem x:\shares\music etc, but when I try to copy it to the new shares I get the error message "Cannot copy {filenane}. The file cannot be accessed by the system".

    I have encountered this before, but can't remember how I got over it. I have tried to change the disc permissions and owner without success.

    I appeciate your help on this as I'm eager to recover my data!

    Hi,
    these folders are only containing tombstones.
    The real files are sitting in subfolders of the hidden folder DE\shares, on one or more disks.
    (You need to toggle Show hidden files and folders in the Folder Options to see this folder in Windows Explorer.)
