Windows genuine? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have joined this forum to help a friend repair his computer which after some software changes suddenly suggests that his version of Windows 7 is not valid.  I have downloaded your diagnostic tool and now paste in the results.  I'd be grateful for your help to put this right.  There are so many suggestions to be found on the internet and I'm concerned that I might choose the wrong solution.  Thank you.

  • It looks to me as if the installation here was done with Retail disks, rather than with the manufacturer's Recovery media.

You need to change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment),  using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.

You may need to activate by phone.
