Account Balance History RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had Money 98. Recently installed Microsoft Money Standard 2005. When I opened Money 2005 with the Money 98 .mny file, Money 2005 opened showing only one line of each recurring bill entry in Bills. When I look at the Account History Balances report for any future dates (i.e., Next 30 Days, Next 60 Days, etc.) the future balances don't show up. Past Account Balance History will show up correctly, though. Even if I look at the Current Month, the report only reflects the month to the current date--nothing for the remainder of the month. Please help.

  • I don't remember how the Bills screen was set up in Money 98, but in more recent versions the Bills screen only shows the next single upcoming transaction.

As for projections, there is a Cash Flow view.  I use US Money Sunset, but I believe that the following will work in Money 2005 also.  Go to the Account Register screen and find "Other tasks"  Click on "Analyze spending", and choose "Projected cash flow" to see the projected future balances for the account.  Is this what you are looking for?

If you use it frequently, I believe that you can also add Cash flow as a shortcut.

  • Make sure that you are using the Advanced Bills, Advanced Register and the Advanced Reports. Money 2005 by default shows simplified versions of all.
