Upgrading Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10, Receive Missing DLL error, upgrade fails RRS feed

  • api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-|1-1-1.dll this file is missing, error pops up after the upgrade download and upgrade starts.

    How do I fix this?

    Where do you download the upgrades? Is it downloaded from the official Microsoft websites?

    This file is part of Microsoft® Windows® Operating System. Api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-1-1.dll is developed by Microsoft Corporation. It’s a system and hidden file. Api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-1-1.dll is usually located in the %SYSTEM% folder.

    By the way, this forum is about desktop application development. For your case, I suggest you post on Microsoft Community for better support.

  • Replace C:\Windows10Upgrade\wimgapi.dll with the one from C:\Windows\System32\wimgapi.dll
