Error after migration from TFS 2010 to 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I upgraded TFS from version 2010 to 2013. The migration was successful, without errors.

Control panel -> Collection -> Team Project -> Security

When we select any windows group (below) i get error:

Ajax request failed with status: Sys.ArgumentException: Sys.ArgumentException: Cannot deserialize empty string. Parameter name: data.

TFS.Core.Ajax.AjaxException: Ajax request failed with status: Sys.ArgumentException: Sys.ArgumentException: Cannot deserialize empty string.
    Parameter name: data.

This is not a TFS cache issue because it has been cleared on the client and server.

It depends on the users. eg, TFS administrator does not have such an error, the group opens correctly.

What could be the reason for this error?

  • Hi Ebasse1,

    Welcome to MSDN forum.

According to this error, you could have a try to clean the caches of TFS 2013, please refer more here.

BTW, since our forum is discussing about VS debugger, and the tfs forum has been locked, we recommend you could refirect to stack overflow with tfs tag, then you could get dedicated support there.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Dylan
