7601 windows not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased a Dell computer so that my son can use it to go to school. After two months, I received a sign saying that my windows wasn't genuine. I can't afford a new computer, let alone a new copy of Windows that cost $100.00. I live on social security and the money isn't there. This is what I copied from the diagnostic check. Can someone help me out. This problem is making everything run slow and nothing seems to want to work right.

  • The installed Product Key is the Default Key- and can never be activated.

Your machine was manufactured 2 years before WIndows 7 was released - and is probably licensed only for Windows Vista.

You should reinstall with the original recovery media, unless you have a legitimate Full License for Windows 7.

  • If this PC was advertised as having Windows 7 Professional installed, the seller owes you a legitimate product key.  If not, you have been defrauded and should contact your local law enforcement authority.
