  • You are still using a beta or release candidate version of Service Pack 1.  It has expired and will shut down your system unless you uninstall it.  Uninstall Service Pack 1 (Release Candidate) and then update via Windows Update.  You can reinstall the final version of SP1 when it is offered by WU.

  • Thanks for your reaction;

    01.However, the Service Pack for Microsoft Windows KB976932 is not greyed out.

    02.I installed the Service Pack for Microsoft Windows KB976932.

    03.But cannot seem to uninstall it.

    04.I posted my Diagnostic Report (1.9.0027.0): Sept.24.1338 hrs. AST

    05.I tried to uninstall via Control Panel and via the command prompt

    06.Perhaps I will need to wait till Windows 8 Upgrade comes along...

    My thanks.

    Why would it be greyed out?  What are you talking about?

    Perhaps I will need to wait till Windows 8 Upgrade comes along...

    Why in the world would you wait for Windows 8 anything?  What does Windows 8 have to do with this?  IIRC your computer is about to become inoperable, perhaps in a week.

    I installed the Service Pack for Microsoft Windows KB976932.

    I hope you removed the beta version first.
