Export to Adobe Illustrator RRS feed

  • Question

  • How do you export a MapPoint 2011 map to Adobe Illustrator? I was told third parties make a plugin but haven't found any.

  • I don't think I've seen one, although I guess an export plugin that copied the image as a bitmap would work. So you would manipulate the map as a rectangle in Adobe illustrator, and not as a vector drawing.

You could do this yourself using MapPoint's "Export to Web Page" or clipboard options, or Matty's Consulting Print-to-PDF services.  The web page will produce a sub-directory with a GIF image - this is the map.  The Matty's option is slower and pricier of course, but he specializes in high resolution maps.
