TV Tuner Support RRS feed

  • Question

  • My current media server is an MCE 2005 Rollup 2 box with dedicated OTA HD Tuner and STB Tuner.  I then run Xbox 360 Extender in my living room.

Will WHS support TV Tuners or does it?  What kind of functionality will I expect from WHS and my Xbox 360?  Is it just Windows Media Connect?

    Here is my proposed setup:

    Asus A8N32

    Opter0wn 165 w/Zalman 9500

    2GB Corsair XMSDDR433 LL

3 x Western Digital SE16 Drives in RAID 5 off the Nforce RAID Controller<--Is this possible?  Is it necessary with WHS storage functionality?

    DVDRW

    Avermedia A180

    ATI 550

Thanks in advance.  i can't wait to install it.

  • To my knowledge, as long as W2K3 supports the hardware, it *should* work in WHS.  Now, as far as Media Center type functionality, there have been multiple threads that have brought it up as a suggestion, but it is currently not a working function.

  • For V1, don't expect anything but Windows Media Connect. For now WHS is not supposed to be the "Media center Server".

For more info, read this thread in the suggestion forum :
