    I'm trying to locate my Windows VISTA Product key. The label on the bottom of my laptop is worn. Is it located in my system properties and looks like this?
    5 numbers- 3 letters-7 numbers-5 numbers.

      I only deal with Activation or Validation issues, so I have no idea if/how to recover a worn COA sticker/Product Key, but possibly the below Support Docs may be of some assists you.


    To Replace Product Key:

    See KB811224 "How to identify, locate, and replace a product key"  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811224 
    or
    See KB824433 "Lost or misplaced product key (certificate of authenticity) for Windows" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824433
    (this doc is specific to Windows 95, 98, Millennium and Windows 2000, but may also work for XP and Vista).

    Hi
    There is nothing there to help. Is the Windows VISTA key different than the XP key. The XP Key is al the same number of letters/numbers before each - the number I found in my properties is 5 numbers-OEM-7 numbers-5 numbers. If this is the way VISTA key is then I found it in the properties screen under product ID. Is this the same as the Product KEY???
