  • Question

  • Maybe most of you know that already, I still post it.

When opening a discussion, it counts as unanswered and will never count as answered, except you change the type to question. Take the German PowerShell Forum as an example. Just sort it with "Unanswered" and you'll also see discussions there.

It's actually just a small issue, but it is one.

Beside that, whenever you see a reply, you think is helpful, click "Alternate TextVote As Helpful"! And whenever you see a reply being an answer to the main question of the thread, click "Alternate TextMark As Answer" (if you opened the thread).

  • I haven't experienced this, and cannot find any examples in the forums I frequent. However, when I look in your German Forum, I notice that all of the Discussion threads that show up in the Unanswered list were threads where the type was changed. And, these Discussions threads that show in the Unanswered list do not show up in the Discussion list. I think the bug is that changing the thread type doesn't work as expected.

  • I just opened a thread as a Discussion and not a question and it was sorted as an Unaswered Thread. You can test it on your own if you want to. I quickly removed my test thread.

  • I cannot duplicate your experience in the TechNet Sandbox forum. I created a discussion titled "Test Discussion" here:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/tnsandbox/threads

When I filter on "Unanswered", this thread does not show up. When I filter on "General Discussion" it does show up.

  • Can you create it as a question first and then change type?

  • Huh, strange. Propably some random error?

I can create it as a question first and then change the type. Also then, it will be sorted in unanswered.
