Vail Preview 2 SDK Provider Template does not compile RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello I've been looking at the new templates and the Provider Template doesn't compile:

      static void Main(string[] args)

      {

       ProviderHost host = new ProviderHost(typeof(ProviderService), "provider");

       host.Open();

       System.Console.ReadLine();

       host.Dispose();

      }

    This is the entry point for the program.cs file in the 'Provider' project. I assume it should be this:

      static void Main(string[] args)

      {

       ProviderHost host = new ProviderHost(typeof(ProviderService));

       host.Open();

       System.Console.ReadLine();

       host.Dispose();

      }

    Is my assumption correct and will this have any undesirable results?

  • Your assumption is correct, and will not be likely to have undesirable results.

    The only other thing you could do would be to use the Open() override that takes a string, as this will allow you to uniquely identify your implementation of your contract.  This probably isn't necessary in your scenario, but it does more closely match the behavior described in the template (where "provider" is the identifier).

    Please let me know if this fixes your issue, or if you run into any other issues.

    Thanks,
