social.msdn.microsoft.com crashes IE RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,

I have this issue where when I use Internet Explorer and this page, since the update it causes IE to crash without a chance to view the forums, only accessing the /newthread? works.

    OS: Windows 7

    Internet explorer version: 8.0.76

Accessing social.msdn.microsoft.com can also  sometimes work using the below environment.

    OS: Windows 8
    Internet Explorer 10 (Metro App)

  • There were many threads before that this forum is not working in IE8.

  • I use Windows 7, but I have IE 9. The only time I see that message (about a long running script) is after a long delay when I open a page. I generally click "No", do not stop the script. At worst, I close the page, then open the page again. The page generally opens on the second attempt. I believe the problem is that the server is busy and slow to respond.

Does the page eventually open for you? Do you need to click "Yes" to stop the script? Can anyone else confirm this problem with IE 8?

    Yeah,

On Windows 8 and IE 10 it can resume after a while. On Windows 7 and my  IE 8 it simply crashes and the Explorer can't seem to recover.
