Increasing Errors with SyncToy RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using SyncToy 2.0 on my Windows 7 based laptop to backup files from my hard drive onto a backup drive on my wireless network. I've noticed lately that there have been an increasing number of errors when running the normal backup profile that I use (in Contribute mode). An example of the errors are:

Error: Cannot write to the destination file. Cannot create a file when that file already exists. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700B7) Copying C:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Music\Meat Loaf\Bat Out Of ____\01 Bat Out Of ____.m4a to F:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Music\Meat Loaf\Bat Out Of ____\01 Bat Out Of ____.m4a

It seems to be mostly for music, photos or video files that it occurs, but typically I've been getting about 450+ errors such as this on each backup!! And the number of errors gets more each time... but it's not always the same files.

Any ideas why this is happening?
