404 Error IFD Enabled Multiple Organizations RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I've gone ahead and created a new organization in our CRM 2011 on-Prem environment. I can access our primary organization with no problem. When I try and access our secondary organization I type in https://URL/SecondOrgName and I get sent to our ADFS server to authenticate. Upon authentication I get a 404 directory not found error. I've had several users try this, and all users are experiencing it so I know its not a local issue. I've confirmed those attempting to access the new ORG have access to it by accessing it from the webserver using <a href="http://:5555/orgname">http://<servername>:5555/orgname. I am able to access the org that way. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Pasha

  • The Org names in the URLs are handled a little differently with Multi-tenant IFD where you are hosting more than one org. The default organization will be accessible through https://domain.com , however any additional organizations will be accessed through a https://org.domain.com . You will need to setup additional dns records for each of the organizations you will be making accessible through IFD.

  • Hi Pasha,

You might need to manually update the relaying party trust on the ADFS where you configure the CRM so it will include the new organization endpoint; this is something that doesn’t happen automatically when you create a new org but it might take some time to be updated.

To do that go to the AD FS manager, expand Trust Relationships then click on Relaying party trusts. On the right hand select the display name you created, right click and select Update From Federation Metadata…

You might also need to restart the AD FS service after that.

Be sure you also configured a new entry for the new org on the DNS server.
