Office Enterprise 2007 Validation RRS feed

  • Question

  • After Windows updated my computer yesterday (including Office Genuine Advantage Notifications (KB949810) -Installation date: ‎27.8.09 -Installation status: Successful
    I restarted my computer.
    I now get the message
This copy of Microsoft Office is not genuine.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium plus Office Enterprise 2007.  When I bought the computer and installed my (perfectly valid) Office Enterprise 2007 which was bought from Microsoft via the work scheme.  My copy of Ofice has been validated many times during the update process.

When I check the validation via Microsoft Web site it states that the validation was successful. I do not get any message on the Office program ribbons but it is very annoying to be told that my copy of Office is not genuine when I know it is.

What do I do? to fix this?  Can Microsft do something to fix this?

I have used the diagnostic tool and got the following report:

  • Hello GG30340,

I see no problems in your Duagnostic Report.  Windows and Office both show Genuine and I see no other error codes.  I have also looked up that copy of Office and it appears to be in order and fully Genuine.

What I would like you to try first is go to http://microsoft.com/genuine/diag and click the 'Start Diagnostic' button. The page will check setting to be sure your computer is set to be able to Validate correctly.  Once you pass the Diagnostic with all Green, then click the 'Validate Office' button.

If it Validates as Genuine, reboot Windows two times and then open an Office program and see if you still receive the Non-Genuine notice.

If it Validates a Non-Genuine (or if you still receive the Non-Genuine Notification after Validating as Genuine), try the below steps:

    1) Click Start, click Run, type C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data, and then click OK.
    2) Right-click the Opa11.dat file, and then select Delete.

Important Do not delete the opa11.bak file.

    3) Close the folder.
    4) Reboot Windows twice
    5) Start an Office program and see if you still get the Non-Genuine Notification (Note: At this point you will most likely first be asked to enter the Office Product key again and to Reactivate)

If nothing I have suggested resolves the issue, your next step would be to create a (no cost) support request at
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52029 for further assistance.

    Thank you,
    Darin MS

  • Sorry, I have no answers.. but I too am experiencing the same problem.  I am in Kuwait and do translations for a local company, they gave me a copy of the Microsoft enterprise 2007, because most of my translations are done through Microsoft word and Excel..I had the enterprise installed on my XP laptop, and had no problems with validation , but then I had to buy a new computer and got Vista.. I put the exact same program on it, and it is telling me too that my copy of enterprise is not valid. I don't know what to do to fix it, but would love to know. Somebody suggested getting the code from a hacker and I was like no way, my copy is genuine and I shouldn't have to do that.. the problem is that the owner of the company is out of the country on an extended medical leave, so I can not have him fix the problem.. so what do I do..

In a MODERN World full of laptops.. most companies here use and prefer them over the desktop models.. but according to what I found on Microsoft, laptops don't belong in business.... WHY????

If anyone has any suggestions or answers,

    My email is shells_here@hotmail.com

    Thanks in advance ~s.roberts
