Cannot get rid of "This is counterfit office 2007" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had a counterfit version of Office 2007 Pro and removed it from my computer. Then I bought the original version and installed it and registered it with Microsoft and everything went fine. However, I still get message "this is a counterfit version" whenever I open a document in word or powerpoint. Does anyone knows the place in Microsoft to get help? I tried using contacts and I am given thre options to pay for support. This is a brand new software and I should get the necessary help withou charge at least for the first 30 days or something.

  • Hello Fergo44,

Please visit www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on Validate Office.  That should clear the OGA Notifier cache and analyze the new installation of Office to ensure it is genuine and that it Validates.

  • I am having the same issue.  Recently we discovered that the version we had was a counterfit copy.  So we went out today, purchased a brand new Office 07 however now, even with the new product key and all it still says that it is not genuine.  HELP!
