USB 3.0 via PCI Express x 4 in Acer Easystore WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has anyone had any luck installing a USB 3.0 adapter card into the EasyStore 340 PCIe slot?

I cant ever seem to get an eSATA enclosure to recognise - and the USB 2.0 interface is far too slow.

This would allow for use of more storage drives and/or eventually an external NAS box.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

  • I am about to try building up a WHS 2011 system on a MB that has eSATA and USB3 native.  Should be going by late Monday, I'll let you know how well it works out for me.  Assuming it works out at all.  :)

It should not be a problem if you have the right drivers. If they are not included in WHS 2011 try finding Windows Server 2008 R2 drivers (probably not available unless you are specifically using a server motherboard) but failing that, try Windows 7 64-bit drivers.
