  • Question

  • I installed one care and did a scan, one care said no infections were found but i knew i had at least one trojan so i installed stopzilla and it found no less than 34 infections! virus ,spyware, rogue and trojan! why is one care not picking up on these? i know no security program can get it all but this is ridiculous!

  • It's hard to say, not knowing what Stopzilla found that One Care did not. This post has the procedure for reporting  undetected malware - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=662566&SiteID=2

  • I can,t answer your problem but i know that onecare does not cope with spyware very well pick up the odd tracking cookie but lets keystroke loggers and adware straight through dialers also. My sons computer was riddled with adware keystroke loggers and he has been running Onecare for at least 2 months. Somebody from Microsoft should just install free software available with Google and see what i,m talking about then they might understand my frustration that i purchased this software that does not pick up a keylogger gutted. Its allright going to try and report this to microsoft but the software has allready put it in quarintine so you can,t attach it GUTTED!!!!!

OneCare does not do anything with "tracking cookies." You can manage cookies in your browser privacy settings. Removing a "tracking cookie" after it has been received does nothing useful except cleanup the cookie. You would want to block the cookie.

If you are using Windows Live OneCare and you have been infected by malware - viruses, trojans, or keyloggers, for example, but OneCare did not detect or cannot remove the malware, please contact support to report this and for help with removal.
