User Provisioning - enable archiving and litigation hold RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    We're trying to do some user provision via our IDP, which creates the user in O365 and assigns the licence.

    Only thing is that it doesn't do is enable new users with on-line archiving and litigation hold.

    I need a PowerShell script that I can run as a scheduled task that does the following:

    * Search all my E3 licensed users that:

    * Don't have litigation hold enabled.

    * Don't have archiving enabled.

    * Once select users are found, enable litigation hold and archiving.

    I should mention that we have service accounts using Exchange Online Plan 1 licenses, which I don't want to Archive, unless I specifically need to (which I would do manually).  The rest of our user mailboxes are using E3 licences.

    So, I need to filter the E3 accounts from the EOP1 accounts, then find out which ones of those don't have Lit Hold and Archiving.

    I've been looking around the web to try to piece bits together, but am struggling a little.

    Thanks,

    Steve
