Problems sync'ing Appointments using server-side sync and Dynamics CRM 2013

Question
-
Hi all,
When configuring server-side sync for mailboxes and Microsoft Exchange we are finding that during Mailbox Enabling and Testing some users error saying:
Appointments, contacts, and tasks for the mailbox xxxxxxx couldn't be synchronized. There owner of the associated email server profile XXXXXX has been notified. The system will try again later.
From reading on the web there are other users experiencing the same issue and that it's been logged with Microsoft.
Has anyone got to the bottom of what causes particular users to error?
We're finding that it's older users on the Domain that are finding this more. We've seen some users get the error - but then later tests show no problems and we can start sync'ing appointments.
Desperate to find the solution.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this,
Richard

We have the same problems here.
Unfortunately, no meaningful logs available.
It does work for some users and for others not - no idea why.- Proposed as answer by DanielTDSI Tuesday, June 7, 2016 3:02 PM

I have the same problem as well.
My mail box (I'm an administrator) works perfectly.
My sales persons mailbox passes the tests but starts receiving these errors shortly after activation.
If you find a solution please share.
Thank you,

It's a known bug.
The problem is something with timezones that are not correct (or appointments who don't have a timezone).
Most of these appointments are "old" recurring appointments..We also noticed that in Outlook 2013, timezones are automatically saved when creating a new appointment (so new appointments won't be the problem).
From the moment that 1 appointment isn't correct, you will get this error in CRM...I have contacted MS and a patch will be available very soon to fix this issue..

Hi,
We are facing similar issue. For some reason one of the user's mailbox records would go disabled and the syncing for appointments, contact and tasks would stop. really frustrating. Its a week since we have been troubleshooting this but to no avail.
Could you please let us know if you heard back anything from Microsoft about the issue that you logged with them? This would really help a lot of developers here in CRM community who are facing this frustrating issue (all thanks to Microsoft)
Thanks you mate... will be looking forward to hear from you.

Maybe you can try installing Service Pack 1, it contains fixes for server side sync. But i'm not sure this will help.Thursday, October 16, 2014 2:21 PM

SP1 did not help.
We have this issue from all the beginning of CRM2013 with certain mailboxes - no fix for a year now.
A shame for software made by the same vendor like Exchange and CRM.Tuesday, December 2, 2014 3:21 PM -
I also had the same issue worked for some and not others. Discovered its a permission issue.
To Do Server Side Appointment / Contacts / Tasks the user needs to have at least Write, Append To for the record.

Have you approve email before enabling the mailbox?Try this one ,- Approve mailbox using “Approve Email” button- Then Enable Mailbox using “Test & Enable Mailbox” button.Hope this will resolve your issue.
Thanks,
Sam
