Back up fails at 1% on Windows 8 RRS feed

    I have home server running and backing up all my other computers except the one computer running windows 8.

    I have the connector loaded and am able to open the dash board on the window 8 machine.

    I started a manual back up.  The backup status shows "In progress 1%".  This is as far as the back up goes.  The back up fails with no error message.

    When looking on the other forums it stated to make sure .Net 3.5 was enabled which I did.  Restarted the computer.  Tried to run the back up again but still not successful.

    Once suggestion was to upgrade to Server 2012 Essentials.  If I upgrade to 2012 do I get to keep my homeserver domain?  I am running the server at home and use it for file and picture sharing so I really do not what to have to upgrade if I do not have to (plus the cost is a bit prohibitive).

    Any help would be appreciated.
