CRM 2011-Developer's toolkit- Can it be used to update a plugin RRS feed

  • Question

  • I wrote a simpel plugin that needed to be updated several times until it did what I needed it to to. Every time I updated the plugin, I needed to go to CRM and delete the old one and deploy the new one through the Developer toolkit otherwise, I would get an error if the assembly already existed and I re-deployed.

What is the best way to do this (i.e. to re deploy an updated plugin)?

    Thank you for your time.

  • Yes - if you develop a plugin using the Developer Toolkit anytime you make and update you will be able to deploy the update from Visual Studio just by right clicking on the solution and selecting "Deploy".

  • Jason,

I am new to developing plugins through developer's toolkit. Somehow when I was developing my plugin when I tried to deploy it I got some errors. Then when I deleted my plugin and re-deployed it worked. That's why I was confused.

With your direction, I just re-deployed my plugin that already existed and it didn't complain. I didn't know you could do it.

    Thank you very much.
