One or more folders in your mailbox is named incorrectly RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am getting the following error from my outlook client. Can anyone tell me how to correct this:

    One or more folders in your mailbox is named incorrectly.

    The name of one or more of your folders includes the character "/" or more than 250 characters. Folders with names that include this character can't be downloaded to your IMAP e-mail program. Please rename these folders:

    • CrmOrgMailboxPrefix01/12/2015_16:35:36 (Tasks/CrmOrgMailboxPrefix01/12/2015_16:35:36)

  • 1. Download MFCMAPI from http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com
    2. Unzip the downloaded file and from the extracted folder double click on mfcmapi.exe.
    3. OK the startup screen.
    4. Logon via; Session-> Logon…
    5. Select the mail profile which contains the folder you wish to alter.
    If you’ve never seen this dialog before, just click OK to load your default mail profile.
    6. Double click on the mailbox store containing the folder you wish to alter.
    7. Expand: Root – Mailbox Container
    8. Depending on your account configuration expand the following folder:
    IPM_SUBTREE -> Tasks
    9. Locate the CrmOrgMailboxPrefixXXXXX.  The date on the name will vary depending on when the client was configured.
    10. Highlight the folder and select the Property menu item at the top of the tool.
    11. Select the Export Item Properties option and save the results to the default Props.xml file.
    12.  Once you have exported, rename the CrmOrgMailboxPrefixXXXXX folder
    This folder will be recreated after a short period of time
    13.  Once the folder is renamed, close the MFCMapi tool
    14.  Relaunch Outlook which should then automatically run the Synchronize with CRM process.
