Hi,
My PC has been running well for years. Suddenly it shows "Windows not genuine" error message. Could you help what the cause is? Here is the MGAD report:

The -065- portion of your Product Key indicates that it is a leaked MSDN Subscription Key. In order to get an MSDN subscription, you need to sign agreements with Microsoft. Then they allow you access to keys that are to be used ONLY for the purpose for which they were intended. Those keys are NOT for resale and NOT supposed to be distributed. When those keys are "activated" enough times, Microsoft will ban them from further use. That might take over a year before a particular one is banned. But the effect is the same - the counterfeit installation is then flagged as non-genuine.

Thanks very much for quick reply.
How do I contact Microsoft to sign agreements in order to get an MSDN subscription?

Generally you don't. If you are an average home user, you do not have that option. MSDN means Microsoft Developer Network. Unless you are a software developer, this is unavailable to you. And even if you could, this particular key has been black listed. At this point you need to back up files that you want to keep to another hard drive or a USB drive. Then format your hard drive and install a genuine copy of Windows that has been purchased from a trusted source - NOT EBay, Craigslist or Amazon. You will want to look at the Microsoft Store to start.

Anyone can purchase an MSDN subscription - but they are far from cheap (potentially upwards of £1000 per year).
They are designed for those who require access to the vast array of MS products - and are restricted in what they can be used for.

I really don't need MSDN. Can I unstall any software which is related to MSDN to solve the issue?Tuesday, June 11, 2013 11:58 PM

You can purchase a genuine "Full Retail Version" of Windows 7 Ultimate and then Update the Windows 7 Ultimate Product Key.Carey Frisch

MSDN is a subscription from Microsoft, not anything that is installed on the computer.
The issue is that your copy of Windows is not genuine. The Product ID is from a version that was not for resale or distribution. You need to purchase a valid license.
