Why do Controls Get Listed Twice when adding where clause? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Applicability~~ Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition, Win XP SP2 or W2K3 R2 SP1 doesn't matter with or without VS2005 SP1 doesn't matter?

Why are controls listed twice? Whenever I go to add a Where Clause using the web designer?
Shoot I can't get a screen capture posted here so I'll try to describe what I'm talking about.....
When you use the smart tag to configure a SQLDataSource then Follow the Wizard through defining the connection string, selecting the table, selecting the fields and so forth then when you click WHERE and then select the field ReportID for example =  Control ...... now when I click the drop down list to select which control to set as the parameter value, each control is listed twice for example :

This makes no sense to me and it does not seem to matter which control is chosen the (ReportID=@ReportsListBox.SelctedValue  )  gets writen to the SQL Select Statement OK..

Please help me fix this annoyance especially if it has some performance impact to it..... It seems to me that events are firing way too many tmes when I am debugging, is this normal?
