Listing out the games installed in Windows 10 machine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have tried packagemanager classes to get the list of installed packages in windows 10 machine.

     PackageTypes type = PackageTypes.Main;
     IEnumerable<Package> packages = (IEnumerable<Package>) packageManager.FindPackagesWithPackageTypes(type);

    When I used the above code, getting all packages including games installed ,

    but how can I separate only games from the list?

  • The short answer - you can't.  There is nothing in Windows to differentiate a game from any other type of app.

  • Think about it, what defines a game.  Not the name, not the fact that it is an app.  There really is no way to separate games from other apps on a PC.
