Not a major problem... You are still protected, but you purchased a subscription under a different ID than the one that OneCare sees as the subscription ID. I think that this link may help you reset the credentials so that you can activate OneCare again with the new subscription LiveID you used to purchase: http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2776450&SiteID=2
If not, your other choice is to simply uninstall OneCare via add/remove programs in Control Panel and then install OneCare again from http://onecare.live.com. Once you've reinstalled, activate/subscribe using the new LiveID (your Hotmail address LiveID)
Good luck.

If you paid online, you don't need an activation code and therefore won't get one. All you need to do is click the Subscribe/Activate button in OneCare and sign in with the LiveID you used when you purchased the subscription. This will automatically activate it.Sunday, March 16, 2008 8:12 PM

Thanks you. I don't see that Subscribe/Activate button in one care. it just says your subscription ends in two days. And it asks if I want to renew my subscription.

Did OneCare complete activation on the PC after you paid? Meaning, did it show that you were subscribed?
If not, it is possible that something is blocking the sending of the activation response or subscription status to OneCare on the PC. If you have any other security software installed, you will need to remove it. Parental controls should be disabled until OneCare is activated. Try the following:
- Check your PC date and time.
- Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
- Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About...
If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.

But what happened it that I have one windows live id that I made specifically for my onecare then I have another that is my actual email address. because hotmail auto fills my normal email I acidentally paid the renew fee under the wrong id not the one linked to the computer. Understand? Im so scared im gonna get a virus please help Stephen!
