Activity information is no longer expanding

    Question

  • When I go to My Profile/Activity I no longer see the full activity line and there is no tooltip anymore. I am using Google Chrome and there used to be the whole activity line expanded shown as a tooltip, but it no longer shows for me. I can only see a stripped version of the activity and had to guess what is it.

  • I am seeing the full title of the thread, but nothing else. Sometimes the title even word wraps in the tooltip when I hover over the entry with my mouse.

  • No problems here with IE/Edge/Chrome. You might try clearing out cache or if no joy you can use the site feedback link here to let them know.

  • I tried in Edge, but got the same problem. Haven't tried clearing the cache (I had a lot of things stored, don't want to lose them). I'm using new view. Switching to the classic view shows full activity row.

I'll report to fissues later today.

  • Yes, I forgot to mention I was using the newer MSDN view.

  • Just in case, tried in IE - same behavior :( When I hover over the activity, I can only see the full text of the thread expanding in the tooltip, but not the activity text itself.

  • In the MSDN view I see the full title in the tooltip when I look at your profile activities. At present I am using IE 9 (because I work in the TechNet Wiki). But I also checked in FireFox with the same result.

Edit: Are you saying that you used to see more than just the title in the tooltip? I guess I never checked before, since I generally use the TechNet view, except to see points for the activities.

  • Ok, now I think I get it. You talking about the ToolTip text on mouse over? Yes, might be same issues here.

  • Yes, exactly the same problem, I think. In other words, the activity text is truncated and I can not see it in the whole. I used to be able to see it, but this seems to be a new behavior changed recently.

  • Do you mean full title of the thread or full text of the activity?

  • I'm not seeing truncated. It looks like they changed it to show either the subject or forum name depending on which you mouse over.

  • It used to be the text of the activity in a different style tooltip (balloon style). Now I only see the beginning of the activity so I don't know what exactly it is in this mode.

  • This is what I mean by truncating:

As you can see, the last visible letter in that text is F. If I hover mouse I can see the full title of the forum and full title of the thread, but not the full activity text.
