Hello Paul-York-UK,
According to the Windows section of the mgadiag report, your installation of Windows XP Pro on your Dell Dimension 8300 computer is showing as a Genuine OEM license installation using Dell's standard deployment Product Key, which is exactly what we should be seeing, so no problems there! :-)
Here is a snippet of the Office section of your mgadiag report:
OGA Data-->
Your installation of Microsoft Publisher 2002 is showing as a Genuine installation of an OEM licensed product, which is normal.
Office Status: 101 Not Activated
Microsoft Office XP Professional - 101 Not Activated
Microsoft Publisher 2002 - 100 Genuine
OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0
Signed By: Microsoft
Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1_3E121E02-385-80004005_3E121E02-452-80004005_3E121E02-312-80004005_3E121E02-372-80004005_3E121E02-452-80004005_3E121E02-312-80004005
Your Office XP Pro installation of an OEM license is showing as "Not Activated," which would cause the OGA Notifier to alert you to the possibility of nongenuine software.
We have seen this happen occasionally, where a longtime activated and validated installation of Office XP suddenly becomes "nongenuine" due to it being reported as Not Activated. Some posters have told us they think this happened after they used a possibly overly aggressive "registry cleaner" or "file cleaner" type of utility on their computers.
In almost all cases, following the steps in Method 2 of this MS KB article takes care of the situation: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/903275/en-us
Please post back to let us know if it works for you :-)
