Performance Issue with Moving Car Clip RRS feed

  • Question

  • I imported a 9-minute, 1.62GB .mov file of a clip shot with a camera fixed to the windshield of a car. The car proceeds along a very curvy road in the German Alps. The camera is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20, which outputs AVCHD video, which I then converted to .mov. This clip plays smoothly in several different applications.  Once I imported it into Hyperlapse Pro, selecting standard smoothing and 2x speed, it outputted a file which plays nicely, but there is an odd issue with the speed. When the car is on a straightaway, the clip plays at one speed, but when the car enters a curve, it slows down significantly, and does not reflect the original speed pattern. I am very impressed with the smoothing that happens -- it is better than some of the smoothing features in Adobe After Effects or Final Cut Pro X, or even other third-party add-ons. I just wonder how we can correct the speed problem. Any help would be appreciated!
