Date Time RRS feed

  • Question

  • How can I prevent Steady State stopping the users from changing the date and time?

I need the user to be able to change these as the machines are not networked, and we're having problems with the clocks ending up being wrong.

  • Hi Chris, I'd like to inform you that Windows SteadyState does not include the restriction to prevent user from changing date and time. However, if you are using Windows XP Professional or Windows Vista Pro/Enterprise/Ultimate, you can try the following group policy to disable this:

    1. Open Control Panel.
    2. Choose Administrative Tools.
    3. Choose Local Security Policy.
    4. Locate Security Settings.

Local Policies | User Rights Assignment | Change the System Time |Add or remove users as desired.

    Hope this helps!
