Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of windows is not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm having the same problem as several other people here and am getting the message: Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of windows is not genuine.  Below is a copy of my mgadiag.  I think my hdd might be dying, maybe that's why this is happening all of a sudden?

  • The license type is OEM SLP

    Windows Product ID: 00371-OEM-8992671-00524

    Windows Product ID Type: 2

    Windows License Type: OEM SLP

That type of license can only be legitimate when installed by the manufacturer at the time the computer is built.  To be legit Windows 7 had to ship on this computer.  However, the computer was manufactured on August 16, 2007.

    <Date>20070816000000.000000+000

Since this license is for Windows 7 Professional but Windows 7 did not release to manufacturing until two years later (July 24, 2009) it is not possible for your copy of Windows 7 Professional to be a valid OEM SLP license.

This Windows license was installed using an exploit and can never be valid.

You need to purchase a full retail licensed copy of Windows 7 or restore the original Dell Windows that shipped in 2007.
