How to customize auto generated number in case entity RRS feed

  • Hello,

    CRM auto generates code for case number attribute, however lenght of the number part has 5 as limit restriction.

    Here I have a requirement to increase that to 6

    Any idea how to do it ?

  • The only thing you can change with the auto-numbering, as I'm sure you've discovered, is the suffix length.  Instead, you could write your own numbering mechanism, and reference the CRM Team Blog posting on how to establish your own numbering schemes .

  • In short, You can not increase the length. You can only modify the prefix.

    Hope this will get resolved in CRM 2011.
