Office 2003 genuine advantage error message

Question
-
I have been given the correct company product code key for ms office 2003 and i have updated the registry with this correct code as per steps outlined in KB895496. I continue to receive a message when opening an Office app that states "This copy of Microsoft Office is not genuine".
I am pasting in the results from the Diagnostic Tool below

Hello phughes999,
Try running the MS FixIt in Method 2 of this MS KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/903275
After it completes, open an Office program and activate Office if necessary.
Restart.
Visit www.microsoft.com/genuine and Validate Office. Office should Validate normally.
Next open an Office program to make sure the nongenuine notice is not being displayed.

Hello Dan,
I had neglected to mention I followed these same steps yesterday but not necessarily in the same order as you have suggested.
Again today at first log-on I got the OGA message.
So I ran through the steps as you wrote it.
- I did not get asked to activate Office and then re-started my laptop
- I validated Office with message Validation Successful
- I opened Excel with no Non-genuine message
I will wait until I log-on tomorrow to provide an update.
Thanks for your help.Sunday, November 1, 2009 8:14 PM -
Hello phughes999,
Thanks for keeping us updated.
What we have been attempting to do is clear the Office license file associated with your previous nongenuine installation of Office and have your now-genuine installation of Office generate a new one. Once the OGA Notifier sees and acknowledges that the new license file is for a genuine installation of Office, it is reset and will not display the nongenuine notices.
As we have seen, sometimes this can take a bit of work.
If you don't see any nongenuine notices for a couple of days in a row, I think we can call this one done. :-)
