HTML Web Resource dynamic content not available in print preview, crm 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Friends,

We have an HTML web resource on the form.  This HTML web resource has a javascript function which will load data to the html page on load of the form.  This is working fine.

Now when the user tries to take print of this form with the dynamic data populated, the print preview form is showing only static content and not dynamic content.

Please let me know if this is the product behavior and ideally whatever is displayed on the parent form should come up in the print preview form.  Please also share with me if there is any article which suggests that this is the product behavior.

I got a work around for this here, but I need to show to the customer that this is the expected behavior.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Yes, this is product behavior. When we print a form, internally it runs a report which pulls the data which is stored in database (not which is visible on the form that's the reason it shows the hidden fields also). So no dynamic data (custom web page, web resource, JS) will be mapped to the print preview form.

To print the appropriate data usually we develop a new report and replace the print preview internal report.

  • Hi Chandan,

Thanks for your quick reply.  Can you please share some article or something which explains this behavior.  Also, please share with me if there are any steps you have to change the internal report.

    Thanks again,

  • Hi Palani,

Below please find the link to change the entity’s default print preview to a custom implementation.
