one care free trial - can't extend it

Question
-
I have the One Care free trial and it is set to expire soon. I've tried to contact microsoft to find outi f i can extend subscription since i hear that it will be avail for free soon. Can't get an answer due to a strange looped series of error messages and redirections. OK so I tried to just subscribe for the full amount and it won't let me. I signed up for Windows Live as it seemed I needed this account in order to subscribe to one care.. Still won't let me subscribe to one care. Help

The free trial cannot be extended. If you uninstall it and reinstall it, you will get 15 days before the trial expires. You could, in theory, keep doing that, but I'd suggest against it.
OneCare will not be free. OneCare will stop being sold by the end of 2009, but subscribers will be supported through the end of their subscriptions or the end of 2010, whichever comes first.
Morro is not yet ready for beta testing and will not be available until the 2nd half of 2009, according to the announcement. Morro is the code name for the free antivirus solution that will be made available. It will not include any of the other features of OneCare.
You can either choose to subscribe to OneCare now - full retail price online or using a retail key from a boxed copy of OneCare, often available for much less than the full retail price, and transition to Morro when it is released - or you can remove OneCare for now and choose another security product until Morro is available. If you are after free, www.avast.com and www.avg.com both have free home versions available of their antivirus software.

I missed the other part of your post - what happens when you try to subscribe from within OneCare? What does "it won't let me" mean? Error messages? Is IE your default web browser?
