I had crash problems with IE7 "provided by Sky Broadband" (I am now with BT BB) on Dell Dim 3100 with XP Pro SP3. I uninstalled this - IE still shows as an entry in CP/ Remove Programs, but with no option to "Remove"
. I have downloaded and installed IE8 which seemed to run OK but continually crashes (with "instability error in website" message). The title still shows as "provided by Sky Broadband"- the uninstall and reinstall
process does not seem to be proceeding satisfactorily.
I am now using Firefox for this without any stability problem.
I updated from IE6 to IE8 on another PC recently and have had minor problems there. First I needed to transfer my email files and couldn't find them in IE8 so reverted/uninstalled to IE6, then reinstalled IE8. I can now access my
.dbx and .wab form this, but it shows as IE6 not IE8 when starting - rather odd! I would also like to get rid of the IE8 message box which keeps asking me to join the forum or go thro' IE8's functions, with no option to omit this -very annoying.
Any ideas on these upgrade and other IE8 problems ?
