Decrease database size after dropping large number of backup tables RRS feed

    Hi All,

    We had a database of 2TB in sqlserver2008. There were more than 3500 Tables among which most were backup tables around 2000. So after dropping those tables we would actually need to reclaim the space. But the size of the database does not decrease. It stays as 2TB. Can you please let me know some process to reclaim the space that is unused in the database. Though the full backup size has decreased from 258GB to 60GB.

    Help and advise needed!
