Windows Server 2008 Certification for beginners RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

To make things clear from the start, I am an absolute beginner with Windows Server 2008.

Many microsoft academies in my country market the MCTS - 642 Windows server 2008 as a starting course for beginners BUT, on the microsoft site, it states that this course and exam is intended for people that have at least one year experience with Windows Server 2008 administration etc.

My question is this, can an absolute beginner start this course and does he have a real chance of understanding something from it and passing the exam without any prior knowledge? Is there any other certification that is more basic that has to be completed in order to jump to MCTS?

Edit: I should mention that I am currently undergoing the Cisco Networking courses CCNA. The first module CCNA1 completed, CCNA3 in progress.

    Thanks in advance,
