Connecting to HPC headnode from other Desktop / laptop RRS feed

  • Hi  i have running HPC 2008 , now from my laptop using HPC client util and on internet when i tried to connect it says authentication failed. ? i can remote desktop to headnode ok

    1) How can i enable other users to use HPC packe which are not on the same network ? does they need special arrangments on their machines ?

    When you say not on the same network do you mean the laptop is in a different domain to the cluster? If so you can work around this by using runas. You'll need to use the /netonly switch to achieve your goal so something like:
    runas /netonly /user:DOMAIN\username C:\Program Files\Microsoft HPC Pack\Bin\HpcJobManager.exe"
    from the command line should work, obviously replacing appropriate cluster domain & username and using the correct path to your HPC Pack installation.
