Live writer SSL Connection fails RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm connecting to my Wordpress Blog on my own vServer. The server runs multiple client domains (http://foo.com, http://bar.com) and one admin-interface domain (https://admin.com) which has SSL support. The client domains are not supposed to use SSL. They could try to open for example https ://foo.com but it will give you a certificate error because the cert ist made for admin.com

    Here is the problem:

When I try to connect live writer to my http://foo.com/blog URL, it automatically tries a HTTPS connection instead of the given HTTP. SInce the certificate is not valid for this domin, I'm getting an error that the SSL connection failed. I already used a previous version of live writer successfully with this blog. So this must be a new "feature".

Is there any way to force HTTP?

    Best regards,

  • I solved the issue. I bought a new IP address, setup a SSL Certificate and now it works.
