Communicator still looking for Old Live Communications Server DNS RRS feed

    Hello,

I can't seem to get my Communicators to look at our new OCS pool when I have 'Automatic Configuration' set for Connections settings. If you do Manual config with the FQDN it works great. After looking through the logs it looks like Communicator is trying to only resolve the old Office Live Communications Server, yet none of the DNS or SRV records exists anymore. I have all the new DNS and SRV set up correctly (I think). The old Live Comm server was just a VM that a co-worker deleted and didn't clean anything else out. Is there anything else that should be removed so Communicators only look at the new OCS pool? Thanks for the help.

  • checking for the following records in the DNS Server...

    _sipinternaltls._tcp.domain

    _sipinternal._tcp.domain

    _sip._tls.domain

    _sip._tcp.domain

    Sipinternal.domainname

    Sipexternal.domainname

If any one of the above records do exist in the DNS Server pointing to LCS old server, the communicator will still try to contact that server (If configured with auto login).

  • Thank you, I found the SRV record I missed. Having a different AD doamin then "Sip" domain I forgot to look in both.
