Service pack 2 for Vista ultimate does not recognize activation...

    Question

  • after installation of vista service pack 2, the operating system locked me out and asked for the product key.  entered old key and now cannot log into my computer at all!

    You should be offered an Internet Explorer link if nothing else - unless you have more severe problems than just  those of WGA.
    What happens if you boot to Safe Mode?
    Safe Mode with Networking?
    with either of those options, try uninstalling the Service Pack -
